Hey all! It’s been a hot minute since we last checked in.
We had a pub quiz in late April and met our fundraising goal, all while us students were slogging through our spring final assignments. It was both hellish and rewarding.
That said, we wanted to acknowledge that The Belvedere Literary Journal was originally meant to go to print in June and be launched in late June/early July. Due to some unforeseen circumstances (deliciously vague, we know), there have been some delays.
We now know the journal will go to print in July and be launched in the first week of August. So. Sorry about that, but mark your calendars! Get in your pre-orders! Send good vibes! We’re working on our thesis projects, so death is at our doors.
The launch will be at DCU’s Belvedere House (duh) on the St. Patrick’s Campus. We’ll send out lots of updates and social media posts when the deets are finalised. We’ll see you then.
In the meantime, check out photos from our pub quiz below. We’re a cute bunch of writers.
xoxo The Belvedere team

Here’s our winning team! (A group of professors…unfair advantage?)

Juliana Adelman, Belvedere contributor and second from the left, was the winner of the raffle prize hamper, which included chocolates, a candle, a cheeseboard, a blanket, and some other cool stuff.

Our emcee and MACW course director, Darran McCann, was stunned (or maybe not) to learn that his students generally suck at pub quizzes.

Managing Editor Kasandra Ferguson and Contributing Editor Fionn Redmond – along with volunteers Luke, Nikki, Julian, Sandra, Becky, Maia, and Marianna – were hard at work prepping for an event that is ultimately lots of drinking and arguing about random facts.
It was super fun! Thanks to everyone who attended, bought raffle tickets, and donated. This support got us over our fundraising goal.
